International Award 2022 Edition

The award will be held annually. This edition consists of 3 categories:

• completed and uncompleted projects and architectural works, which have improved their locations, promoting the areas and local communities (at territorial, urban and architectural scale);
• solutions for new tools and technologies for dissemination of knowledge and risk management, in the preventive and monitoring phase;
• research at universities or start-ups that have innovative value for prevention, during the emergency and after the event.

Selection is open to:

architects, engineers, designers, professional firms, planners, companies, public administrations, service companies, social cooperatives, universities, research bodies, manufacturing companies.

Participants will be able to send the material in the manner described in Article 4. Subsequently, the jury will have autonomy in the subdivision of the nominations received for the various categories.

Registration must be done through the form on the website www.afterthedamages.com in the special section dedicated to the award.

Individuals or groups may participate in the award.

In the case of groups, it will be necessary to identify a contact person with whom the organising body will communicate and who will register and upload the application. The data of all members will then be shown in the registration form.

The procedure for registration:

1. Open the website afterthedamages.com and go to the section dedicated to the award and follow the suggested steps;
2. Fill the registration FORM in the section dedicated to the award (deadline 30 July 2022).

To take part in the Jury selection, authors are invited to submit in digital format, under penalty of exclusion from the procedure a TECHNICAL-ILLUSTRATIVE REPORT that defines the intervention/action/project in its unique and specific characteristics (both in .pdf and .doc/.docx formats) and a FOLDER CONTAINING AT LEAST 10 IMAGES / DRAWINGS accompanying and completing the report (300 dpi, .jpg or .tiff format).

The technical-illustrative report must be submitted in A4 format – maximum 100 MB, Arial 11 pt font. The report must be no more than 30,000 characters, spaces included, and must be accompanied by images and graphic diagrams (at least 10, these could be the same placed into the image / drawing format).

Candidates can choose whether to submit to the Jury, as additional material, further documentation, such as informative/illustrative videos of the activity carried out, magazine and journal essay, etc…).

The totality of the files cannot exceed 500 MB in size and the latter must be sent in a single folder, compressed in .zip format, to the email address of the award: award@afterthedamages.com using WeTransfer (https://wetransfer.com/).

The .zip file should contain two or three folders:

Folder A – containing the report (.pdf and .doc/docx file) – Mandatory

Folder B – containing images /drawings (300 dpi, .jpg or .tiff format) – Mandatory

Folder C – containing videos and other documents (any format) – Optional

The Award Secretariat will not be held responsible for incorrect submissions and unreceived communications, we therefore recommend making sure the material has been correctly submitted. We recommend not sending close to the deadline, in order to not risk problems related to overload.

Participation in the award requires a registration fee of Euro 50.00. The fee will be necessary to allow the organising body to bear the technical costs of managing the files and related publication of the material on the After the Damages website.

Payment of these fees must be made before sending the applications through the web system of the Futuro in Ricerca Consortium, the body responsible for collecting the fee and in any case no later than 30 June 2022, as per article 6 of this announcement.

Procedure for payment:

1. Click on the registration fee payment link (Award web site) and register your project on the Futuro in Ricerca Consortium portal (deadline 30 July 2022);
2. A confirmation email will be sent to complete the procedure both from the CFR and from After the Damages.

Delivery of documents must take place without fail by 30 July 2022 in digital format according to the specifications of Article 4.

Il premio ha cadenza annuale. Questa edizione è costituita da tre categorie in concorso:

• progetti e opere architettoniche realizzati e non, che abbiamo apportato un miglioramento dei luoghi in favore dei territori e delle comunità locali (a scala territoriale, urbana e architettonica);
• soluzioni per nuovi strumenti e tecnologie per la gestione del rischio in fase preventiva e di monitoraggio e diffusione della conoscenza in fase emergenziale;
• ricerche in ambito universitario o start up che abbiano una valenza innovativa per la prevenzione, la fase emergenziale e il post evento.

La selezione è aperta a:

architetti, ingegneri, designer, studi professionali, progettisti, imprese, Pubbliche Amministrazioni, società di servizio, cooperative sociali, Università, Enti di ricerca, aziende produttrici.

I partecipanti potranno inviare il materiale secondo le modalità presenti nell’art.4. Successivamente la giuria avrà autonomia nella suddivisione delle candidature pervenute per varie categorie.

L’iscrizione dovrà avvenire obbligatoriamente attraverso il modulo presente sul sito www.afterthedamages.com nell’apposita sezione dedicata al premio.

Al presente premio si potrà partecipare in raggruppamenti o singolarmente.

Nel caso di gruppi sarà necessario identificare un referente con il quale l’ente banditore avrà le comunicazioni e che effettuerà l’iscrizione e il caricamento della candidatura. Nel modello di iscrizione saranno poi riportati i dati di tutti i componenti.

La procedura per la registrazione:

1. Visitare il sito www.afterthedamages.com e andare nella sezione dedicata al premio seguendo i passi suggeriti;
2. Compilare il FORM di iscrizione nella sezione dedicata al premio (scadenza 30 luglio 2022).

Per partecipare alla selezione della Giuria, gli autori sono invitati a presentare in formato digitale, pena l’esclusione dalla procedura UNA RELAZIONE TECNICO-ILLUSTRATIVA che definisca l’intervento/l’azione/il progetto nelle sue caratteristiche peculiari e specifiche (sia in formato .pdf che in .doc/.docx) e UNA CARTELLA CONTENENTE ALMENO 10 IMMAGINI / DISEGNI che completino e integrino quanto descritto nella relazione (in formato .jpg o .tiff a risoluzione 300 dpi).

La relazione tecnico-illustrativa dovrà essere presentata in formato A4 – massimo 100 MB, font Arial 11 pt. La relazione non dovrà superare i 30.000 caratteri, spazi inclusi e dovrà essere corredata da immagini e schemi grafici (almeno 10, i quali possono essere anche tra quelli inseriti nella cartella immagini / disegni).

I candidati potranno scegliere se sottoporre alla Giuria, come materiale aggiuntivo, ulteriore documentazione, come per esempio video informativi/illustrativi dell’attività svolta, articoli apparsi su riviste specializzate, ecc…).

La totalità dei file inviati da ciascun candidato / gruppo non potrà superare i 500 MB di dimensioni e andrà inviata in un’unica cartella, compressa in formato .zip, all’indirizzo mail del premio: award@afterthedamages.com attraverso wetransfer (https://wetransfer.com/).

Il file .zip dovrà quindi contenere due o tre cartelle:

Cartella A – contenente la relazione (formato .pdf e .doc/.docx) – Obbligatoria

Cartella B – contenente le immagini (formato .jpg o .tiff, a 300 dpi di risoluzione) – Obbligatoria

Cartella C – contenente video, articoli e altra documentazione a sostegno della candidatura) – Facoltativa

La Segreteria del Premio non risponderà di invii errati e comunicazioni non pervenute, pertanto si consiglia di accertarsi del corretto inoltro del materiale. Si consiglia di non inviare a ridosso dell’orario della scadenza, per non rischiare problematiche legate al sovraccarico.

La partecipazione al premio richiede una quota di iscrizione di Euro 50,00. La quota sarà necessaria per consentire all’ente organizzatore di sostenere i costi tecnici di gestione delle pratiche e relativa pubblicazione del materiale sul proprio sito e su altri portali.

Il pagamento di tali quote dovrà essere effettuato prima dell’invio delle domande attraverso il sistema web del Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca, ente preposto alla riscossione della quota e comunque non oltre il 30 luglio 2022, come da articolo 6 del presente bando.

Procedura per il pagamento:

1. Cliccare sul link di pagamento della quota di iscrizione (sito web del premio) e registrare il proprio progetto sul portale del Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca (scadenza 30 luglio 2022);
2. Verrà inviata una mail di conferma per completare la procedura sia dal CFR che da After the Damages.

La consegna degli elaborati dovrà avvenire inderogabilmente entro la data del 30 luglio 2022 in formato digitale secondo le specifiche dell’art.4.
